Mental well-being entails more than the absence of mental illnesses. Our emotional, psychological, and social well-being are all part of our mental health. It has an impact on the way we think, feel, and act. It is a state of well-being in which a person recognizes his or her abilities, is able to cope with everyday challenges, works productively, and contributes to his or her community.
A variety of socioeconomic, biological, and environmental factors influence mental health. If you have mental health difficulties, you’re thinking, mood, and behaviour may be altered throughout your life. Biological variables such as genes or brain chemistry, as well as life experiences such as trauma or abuse, and a family history of mental health problems all play a role in mental health disorders.

Ways to maintain positive mental health include:
• Getting professional help if you need it
• Connecting with others
• Staying positive
• Getting physically active
• Helping others
• Getting enough sleep
